Still raising the Standard

Green Heritage status is a development under the umbrella of the Green Flag Award scheme which promotes the value of, and best practice in, the care and upkeep of parks and green spaces that are of local or national historic interest.

Judging for West Ham Park took place on 19th June and applying for GH status reinforces the Park's commitment to ensuring they continue to meet the public's needs today while still preserving the Park's historical and cultural importance.

Wait a minute!

Tell us how much you love your Park!  We are always looking for ways to improve the Park and one way you can help us is by telling us about your most recent visit through our short and snappy survey! Is there something about the Park you particularly enjoy, what do you think of our facilities, what is your overall impression of West Ham Park? Share your thoughts with the Friends so we can publicise the widespread view that we really do enjoy a fine park.

Summer bedding production is glowing with colour

The Nursery is once again exploding into bloom as the amazing summer bedding production takes place. West Ham Park Nursery produces over 250,000 peat free spring & summer bedding plants, including provision of hanging baskets ablaze with colour. Bedding is also distributed to other Open Spaces and to the City of London’s square mile. The 5 acre Nursery is a true gem and one of the largest operations of its kind in the UK.

West Ham Park for Cricket, Wildlife, Swings, Slides and…err…..Vegetables!

Newham’s Community Links, Lister School and other keen volunteers have given invaluable support to our food growing project. A vast array of vegetables including peppers, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and herbs are peeking from their planters, potatoes are progressing in their tyres and tomatoes will soon be tumbling from their baskets. The project illustrates how the local community can grow their own food in confined spaces, organically and sustainably. Come and take a look in the Playground!
