'Riches Uncovered'
In the last two years, innovative artist, Clare Newton, has been documenting the disappearing heritage of East London, assisted by community groups in the area.
Clare's work often takes her into adventurous or closed to the public places. She has been 500ft up a belfry to photograph the re-hanging of church bells, walked through electrified tunnels as well as swum in the Thames to recreate a rescue by an RNLI lifeboat. |
Clare premiered her exhibition, a 150 metre open air photgraphic installation, at the Bandstand in West Ham Park on Thursday, 11th June 2009.
It will stay in the park throughout the summer.
